Urinary system includes paired kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra

Kidney is surrounded by a capsule having an outer layer of collagen & elastic fibres and an inner layer of loose connective tissue.

The kidney has two distinct zones: the outer cortex and the inner medulla.

Cortex is interrupted by projections of light staining areas of medullary tissues called Medullary rays (Collecting duct), and part of the cortex surrounding the medullary rays is called the cortical labyrinth (it contains renal capsules, proximal, distal convoluted tubules, collecting tubules).
