URETER:
1.
T. mucosa –transitional epithelium
Mucosa is thrown into folds, thus giving a stellate appearance.
2.
Propria submucosa: In the horse and donkey, the subepithelial CT contains simple branched tubule alveolar mucous glands, and the secretions give the urine a stringy mucous consistency
3.
T. muscularis: ill-defined muscular layers separated by loose connective tissue. It helps with the peristaltic action of the ureters, propelling urine into the urinary bladder.
4.
T. adventitia/serosa: loose CT and elastic fibers
