BULBOURETHERAL GLAND:
Paired structure located dorsolateral to the urethra. It is compound tubular (boar, cat, buck) or tubuloalveolar (stallion, bull, ram). Absent in Dogs.
It is surrounded by a fibroelastic capsule that sends trabeculae. The interstitial tissue consists of loose connective tissue and a few smooth muscle fibers. Secreting portion of the gland is lined by tall simple columnar epithelium. Collecting ducts join to form the intraglandular duct, which opens into the bulbourethral duct
